Good keyword research is your foundation for developing a successful website and internet marketing campaign.

Keyword Research for SEOWhat Is Keyword Research?

Keyword research is a practice used by search engine optimization professionals to find and research actual search terms people enter into the search engines when conducting a search.

As Joshua Wexelbaum of Keywordresearching.com explains,

“If you are marketing on the internet, you need to know what words people are using in their searches. Without knowing the most popular words in your industry, you cannot effectively target the people who are searching for what you sell.

Once you find the keywords that are relevant to your industry or niche, you can use these keywords on your website to attract natural search engine traffic. You can also use these keywords in your pay per click advertising campaigns on Google, Yahoo, or MSN.”

Internet Marketer – Defining What It Really Means

Until very recently, there was no college degree for the Internet marketing industry. It’s an ‘in the trenches’ hands-on education. You have to learn as you go – on your own – soaking up information along the way.  The definition of an Internet marketer, it isn’t always clear to everyone.
Let’s start with what Internet marketing is not.
It’s not being a con artist.
It’s not being a spam king.
It doesn’t just mean selling on eBay or having your own website and products.

In reality, Internet marketers can pick and choose from a whole host of options available to help them make money.  Your opportunities are virtually endless, and include one or more of the following:

•    Selling digital downloads (information products like eBooks)
•    Promoting other people’s products for a commission (affiliate marketing)
•    Selling on eBay or other auction sites
•    Running a membership site
•    Selling and promoting your own online services as a freelancer (writing, graphics, programing, consulting etc.)
•    Owning a website that sells dropshipped or wholesale items

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Being a newcomer to Internet marketing, you might be worried that you don’t have anything to sell.  That’s okay – most people don’t start out with anything, and you never have to stock a tangible inventory if you don’t want to.

Internet marketing creates no gender or age boundaries for you.  There are teenagers who have launched multi-million dollar companies as budding Internet marketers whose ideas sprung to life and catapulted them to instant success.

You don’t have to do anything unethical or shady to succeed at Internet marketing, and in fact, launching a respectable business with a solid reputation is the secret ingredient that will allow you to hatch an empire on the ‘net to fulfill all of your dreams and those of your family.

Will the Real Guru Please Stand Up?

600x120 2 Will the Real Guru Please Stand Up?

Seems everyone is an expert these days.

There are so many ’self-proclaimed’ experts and gurus out there these days that it’s hard for a person just entering the internet marketing and work from home arena to really know who to trust.

With all the online noise… Who do you listen to?

Listening to the wrong ‘expert’ could set you back months not to mention the amount of money you could be taken for. So many are a victim of the blind leading the blind.

I felt inspired to start a new blog series on Bloggers and Internet Marketers that go beyond ‘Guru’ or ‘Expert’ status…

They are on a whole other level that I call ‘HERO’ status.

These are individuals that OVER DELIVER of their time and compassion and truly care about helping others succeed. Many times asking nothing in return.

You won’t find them pitching you on the next greatest launch or affiliate product with each email they send.

They’re all about Sharing The Love!

They are leaders and an inspiration to others.

Now some of these Heroes you may not have even heard of…YET.
Yes, they are all very very successful BUT they’re not shouting to the roof tops how great they are.

So now to kick this blog series off…

Here’s My First ‘Hero’ pick:

Mark Ress of Ressonomics.com

Mark Ress

I’ve been following Mark on Twitter and I’ve participated in his Ustream shows and webinars and he has impressed me from day one.

As Mark himself says, “I just try to keep it real. It’s not just about the money. It’s about serving and helping people with honorable intention.”

He’s very passionate and he tells it like it is. He pushes you to take action but he does it with love and has your best interests at heart not his own.

Just this past December, Mark hosted a Free 5 hour Live Event on Ustream he called his ‘December Stimulus Plan” which was just another way of him ‘giving’ back and blessing others. And those attending were truly blessed by Mark not only of his time and training but other free gifts and bonuses- cash, free hosting, T-shirts, Omaha steaks, coaching and more. Attendees came up with several acronyms for his DSP event… such as Doing Something Positive. The event took on a life of its own as other marketers such as Mark Joyner and Tony Blake joined in and donated items of their own to bless others with.

Mark’s personal story is an inspiration in itself… growing up and surviving in the rough streets of LA as a kid, an ex ‘gang banger.

He is now very active in his church and works with the youth to help get them off the streets and have a chance at a brighter future.

Mark is on a mission to change lives in 2009 with his new free training program, Ressonomics.com
I encourage you to head over there asap, and sign up. I promise you’ll be completely blown away by what this guy is giving you for free.

In addition to the wealth of knowledge and empowerment Mark will share with you, you’ll always get a good dose of entertainment, laughs and of course some good salsa music :)

Mark has blessed so many including myself so this blog post and series is my way of paying it forward.
Be sure to continue to share the love by letting your friends know about Mark Ress and Ressonomics.

Side Note: I wrote this article a few weeks ago but waited to post it because Mark’s wife, Jen Rey, has been in the hospital. He’s been posting updates on her status via Twitter. “Thanks to everyone who was there w/ supporting Tweets, prayers, retweets, prayer requests and prayer circles. ” – Mark Ress via Twitter.

Do you know a Blogger or Internet Marketer that has what it takes to be considered Hero material?

Post your votes and comments.

Be inspired,

Rhonda

5 Common Joint Venture Mistakes Internet Marketers Make

I have followed Willie Crawford for many years- he’s been marketing on the internet for over a decade now. I’m also a member of his creation, (or his ‘baby’ as he calls it :) The Internet Marketing Inner Circle.

Willie has many great insights to share but one that he is extrememly knowledgeable about is the art of Joint Ventures. I encourage you to read the following article written by Willie Crawford that explains some of the most common mistakes marketers make when they are launching a new product and looking for potential joint venture partners.

Article Copyright 2008 by Willie Crawford
willie crawford 5 Common Joint Venture Mistakes Internet Marketers MakeAs a joint venture broker, and mentor to many marketers launching new products, I see a lot of Internet marketers making many of the same mistakes.

Some of these easy-to-correct mistakes can mean the difference between a wildly successful launch, and one that doesn’t even sell enough of the product to cover development costs.

Here are five all-to-common mistakes that can kill a joint venture product launch before it even gets out of the staring blocks.

1) Making Joint Venture Partners Jump Through Hoops

Often the super affiliates and busy website owners that you approach won’t go through an elaborate sign-up process to register as an affiliate/JV partner. Some will love your product idea and begin to sign-up as an affiliate, but as soon as they see that they need to register (and confirm) in numerous different places, many will NOT complete the registration process.

If they need 20 passwords, and all kinds of secret handshakes just to peek at a review copy of your product, many will not waste their time.

It’s your job to make it NO work for your joint venture partners. Sign them up, send them their log-in information, and only ask them to verify their details.

Provide them with a fully-functioning FINAL version of your product for them to review so that they can decide if it’s even appropriate for their customers.

2) Not Giving Joint Venture Partners Enough Lead Time

Many busy super affiliates have promotional calendars flowed out over a month in advance. Some have commitments with partners that go out for several months.

If you request a joint venture with less than two weeks lead time, you should EXPECT most affiliates to politely decline to participate… or even not to respond to such an unprofessional request.

3) Not Deconflicting Launch Dates.

There is nothing sadder than planning a “big” launch, putting all of the pieces in place, and then finding out a few days before that “Mr. Big” also has a launch planned for the same day. It’s even worse if “Mr. Big” has already recruited your desired JV partners to promote his launch.

The way to avoid this one is to tap into launch databases such as the one maintained by The International Association of Joint Venture Brokers (at http://IAJVB.ORG)

4) Not Answering The “WIIFM” For Potential Joint Venture Partners

Your potential joint venture partners have LOTS of potential products to promote. So they silently wonder why they should promote yours over a competitor’s product. It’s your job to answer that question and many other “silent questions” in order to recruit the joint venture partners.

In answering the “What’s In It For Me” (WIIFM) you need to explain how it’s going to help them, help their customers, and you need to frame all of your answers from their perspective. Potential joint venture partners, and their customers, don’t care about you and your products. They care about what you can do for them.

5) Having A Product That No One Wants

It doesn’t matter how original, clever, cheap, or needed a product is – if the market doesn’t want it, you have a flop. If your potential joint venture partners sense that their customers won’t buy it, they’ll logically decline promoting your product.

Far too many products are created that the market doesn’t want, or wants but is unwilling to pay for.

You absolutely MUST do your market research first and verify that the market really wants and will buy your proposed product. Better still, they should be already buying a similar product.

Look carefully at your joint venture project plans. If they have any of these glaring mistakes, correct them before approaching potential joint venture partners. You’ll have much better results, and you’ll be glad that you read this article.

Review: Michael Rasmussen’s “Get More Buyers” Video Course

Review of Michael Rasmussen’s “Get More Buyers” Video Course:
Stuff Your List Full Of Buyers And Start Seeing Five and Six Figures

Ever wondered how online marketers can send an email and see $2,500 or $5,000 or even $25,000 or more flow right into their bank account?

It probably seems like magic…or a scam. But let me tell you, it’s neither one. In fact, it’s pretty easy once you have the business tool these big-profit marketers have. And Michael Rasmussen’s new “Get More Buyers” video course shows you how to get it.

It just launched today – I’ve been one of Michaels affiliates and subscribers for a couple years now and already knew the quality of information he puts out so naturally I hit the order page as soon as it launched.

Get More Buyers

Get More Buyers

If you’re in a hurry, just go ahead visit this URL to
get the full details about this video course:

http://ebusinessmagic.com/go/getmorebuyers.html

The secret weapon these marketers have is a mailing list absolutely stuffed with buyers. What’s great
about Michael’s course is that he hands you 10 practical strategies for attracting eager buyers.
Actually, he’s showing you the way he built his own list, which is pretty much legendary as a JV profit
powerhouse.

I’ve purchased and reviewed the course myself, and I can say a few things with confidence…

First, the quality of the course is excellent. This was obviously professionally done. The audio is near
studio quality, and the presentation he walks through makes the concepts completely clear. Michael’s
previous products were clearly made by somebody who KNOWS how to make a great product, and this one continues the tradition.

He starts with a brief introduction to the common list-building mistakes people make when they’re just
starting out online. This certainly explained some of my own struggles—it’s not just “fluff” material.

For example, he tells you how to create your own profit-pulling marketing “funnel”, even if you’re
starting from scratch. He also tells you the root cause of the two major challenges most people
face…but then he goes one better. He tells you specifically how to crush those challenges.

He walks through 10 strategies for stuffing your list full of buyers. This is amazing material. Here’s just
a sample of what he covers:

* The “magic” price that can get you buyers almost immediately if you’re selling your own product

* How to increase the profit you make on each sale by 50% of more, almost immediately, and with hardly any effort (it’s all about buyer psychology)

* How to “steal” buyers from other marketers, and actually have them thank you for it!

List-building books and courses are a dime a dozen, but Michael’s course is one of the best I’ve ever
seen. There’s no tired old advice that doesn’t work today. He’s giving you real strategies that he uses
himself, and that helped him create a list that routinely brings in five and six figures when he sends
an email.

If you want results like that for yourself (and who DOESN’T, right?) then you check out Michael’s “Get
More Buyers” course. Your business profits will be very happy you did!

Here’s the URL where you can check out the course for yourself:

Expect Success!

Using expired domains to increase your traffic

At some point while you’re building your website, you’re going to have to buy a domain name. This is the address that users type into their browsers to reach your site. That takes about five seconds, and depending on the name you want and whether anyone else owns it, it won’t cost you more than
a few bucks.

But domain names are also a golden opportunity to make some easy money.

I’m not talking about Internet real estate, where you buy up good names and sell them on for a profit—if you haven’t got into that now, forget it. The bottom’s fallen out of the market and the best domains are long gone.

I’m talking about expiring domains.

Thousands of webmasters invest time, effort and money to promote their site and build up traffic. Many of them then lose interest and move on, leaving their site active. That means that although they still own the domain, they’re not actively promoting it. But they don’t need to. All the automatic marketing systems they’ve put in place are still bringing in traffic. The site runs itself.

Now, at some point the ownership of those domains is going to expire. If you snap up those domains once they come back onto the market, you’ve got a pre-built stream of customers. You can either rebuild the site, or redirect the traffic to your domain. You could set up an affiliate program get paid for users someone else paid for.

It’s that easy.

There are tons of options, and lots of easy ways to make lots of money with very little effort. Opportunities like these are everywhere.

Websites such as www.expiredtraffic.com or www.deleteddomains.com actually do all the legwork and let you reap all the rewards. Expired Traffic even has an affiliate program and www.snapnames.com allows you to back-order a specific domain name.

Happy hunting,

Rhonda
