Welcome Home Ben- We Missed You!

Well- tomorrow is the day -FINALLY- that my husband comes home so needless to say I will be taking the rest of the week off to spend some quality time with him.

It’s been a long year and I thank God that he’s coming home safely.

Evidently we have to go attend a weekend seminar within the next month or so to help him reintegrate and get along with his family. Luckily Ben did not experience some of the horrors other soldiers have buy I did notice some changes when I  met him in europe during his 2 week leave.

Midway through the trip I had to remind him that I was not one of his soldiers and not to be in charge so much :)

There’s a big welcome home ceremony planed for their entire unit tomorrow- then some festivities at home with family and friends later in the day.

The girls sure have missed their daddy – at 16 and 18 no less :)

Ben also has a new grandson to meet tomorrow.  Our son Josh is looking forward to that moment as well.

I’m so excited as I write this I know I won’t be able to sleep tonight.

New pictures from trip posted

I’m back home now after spending 2 glorious weeks in Europe with Ben. I just wish I could have stowed him away in my suitcase to bring him home with me. But had to say good-bye again.
Hopefully if nothing changes, he”ll be back home with his family in March ‘09.

I started posting some of our pictures from the trip on RhondaCrosby.com

We took lots of video and pics so may take me awhile to get them all posted.

We explored France, Italy and GErmany.

Our favorite city– definitley Venice.

Germany was amazing too. I had no idea Germany was such a beautiul country.

Exciting trip planned ahead

My husband has a 2 week leave coming up soon and I’ll be meeting him at the Frankfurt Germany airport.

From there we plan to travel through Europe for 14 days. This will be my first trip to Europe. (hopefully not my last)
He scheduled his leave time around our anniversary so this years anniversary will be spent in Paris!

I’m packing extremely light- just one carry on bag period! So this means no room for my laptop. People have done it before, right? We’ll see how I manage.

I’m more excited to see my hubby after so many looong months than the trip to Europe :)

Meet Brody

I have to admit- when my son Josh told me the news that they were having a baby, the idea of being a grandma already wasn’t that appealing.

But as the big day approached, I really began to look forward to it.

Brody blog Meet BrodyBrody Mika was born on May 31st 2008.

You have to wonder about the timing of things and that somehow no matter what, God has always got our back. With my husband shipped off 7 time zones away, and my kids all getting older and spending most of their time doing their own thing, I was afraid the loneliness would really hit my hard.

My first grandson, arrived at the perfect time. While Ben is away, I have lots of cuddling and spoiling to do :)

My husband and I just got the news…

It’s been talked about and hinted about for months now. My husband Ben who has been in reserve status with the Army National Guard for the past several years, has been put into active military status.

Not sure what to think just yet- will post more once I have more details.
